Preserving Our Traditions in the Digital Age: The Story
Behind Sagaie Matrimony
Gor Banjara Matrimony Platform | sagaiematrimony.com
In the Gor Banjara community, marriage is more than
just a bond between two individuals — it is a sacred union of families and
traditions. We are proud of our heritage, especially when it comes to
preserving the sacred customs that guide our relationships.
At Sagaie Matrimony, we believe that tradition and
technology can go hand-in-hand. That’s why we’ve built a platform exclusively
for the Gor Banjara community, where our culture and values are respected
in every match.
The Importance of Gotras in Banjara Marriages
In our community, Gotras (गोत) represent ancestral lineages. According to
traditional belief, marrying within the same Gotra — or even within the same
sub-clan — is not allowed. It is seen as equivalent to marrying within one's
family, and is culturally and socially prohibited.
There are traditionally five main Gotras in the Gor
Banjara community. Dhadi has also been recognized as an important
division within our community structure.

Note:
The classification of Gotras and sub-clans listed above has been compiled with
great care and respect for our Gor Banjara traditions. However, if there are
any unintentional errors in spelling, misplacement of clans under a
different Gotra, or if certain sub-clans have been missed, we kindly
request community members to verify with their family elders or local
traditions. Your understanding and guidance in preserving the accuracy of our
heritage is appreciated.
On Sagaie Matrimony, we encourage every
user to provide their Gotra and sub-clan in First Name during
registration to ensure proper matchmaking according to community customs and
avoid same-Gotra alliances.
